The Seabreeze Crop

10$ lemonades, the smell of sunscreen, children screaming with delight. Summer for me was always accompanied with a trip to our local theme park Seabreeze. Dip n' dots, wooden rollercoasters, and a view of the bay.

This top was created to celebrate the nostalgia, whimsy, and pastel colors of the sea, and boardwalks and theme parks that spring up next to them. The loose, swingy fit also ensures you'll make the most of that sea breeze.

Now, my summer collection roots are firmly in bralettes. As my audience (and my body) gets a bit less young, I have been adding more coverage-friendly options to my collection, with dresses and tanks and cover-ups, (but I still love showing a bit of skin!). I wanted to do something with the 70's amusement park palette. Not just your average 2 cup crochet bralette. Introducing the Seabreeze Crop!

The top features a loose wavy pattern, with colored stripes at the base. The straps feature contrasting color shoulder ties for a fully adjustable fit. The colors of orange, pink, blue, gray, against the white background pay homage to the pastels of kitschy rides, and every color ice cream treat!

  • I used Light Champagne for the bleached white metal of the rides
  • Then I used Blood Orange, Blush Pink, Stormy Gray, Seafoam Blue, and Daffodil Yellow to create the pastel nostalgia

To complete the look all you need is a 4mm / G-6 hook, a flexible measuring tape, and a good pair of yarn scissors .

This pattern was released together with 5 other patterns to make up my 2018 summer collection. Inspired by the seaside. To read more about the full collection and the other designs click here.
